	このワークショップでは、テーブルトピックス（TT）を単なるQ&Aで終わらせることなくスピーチとしておもしろくするにはどうしたらいいのかを参加者の皆さんと考えます。思いつくまま話すにしても一応の秩序を与え、デリバリーにもそれなりに気を使い、スピーチとしてまとめるにはどうしたらいいのかを考えることで、今年秋のコンテストに向けたヒントになればと願っています。このワークショップは特に （1）TTスピーチがすぐに終わっちゃう人、 （2）途中で何を話しているのか分からなくなっちゃう人、 （3）自分のTTスピーチはつまらないんじゃないかと不安を感じている人、 （4）でもTTスピーチにチャレンジしたいと思っている人にお勧めです。

	皆さんはいろいろな目的を持って、この組織に入会されたと思います。スピーチが上手になりたい方、仕事でのプレゼン力を伸ばしたい方、地域や家庭での円滑なコミュニケーションを望む方、etc．目標はそれぞれ異なってても自分の考えをしっかりと伝えたいという思いが根底にあると思います。 成長するのはどんな体験が必要でしょうか？ 例えば、英語クラブだけに参加されていた方が、母国語の日本語でスピーチを練習したとたん、日本語と英語の両方のスピーチが上達した方がいらしゃいます。 これは全国大会でも優勝した方の実例です。母国語でしっかり考えたから、かもしれませんね。 考えてみれば、北米のメンバーの方々は英語を母国語とされていますがスピーチの練習を母国語でされています。 日本語のクラブも同様の環境ですね。 これはひとつの事例に過ぎませんが、このワークショップでは皆さんが実際に体験された実例をお話する機会をつくり情報交換したいと思います。 小さな成功体験から大きなものまで、経験や体験の積み重ねが大切です。 どうやって積み重ねてきたか、仲間と情報交換しましょう。

9:00	5 common mistakes made by TMC speakers	Tanya Rose	TM Rose is a native-English teacher who was awarded a MSC degree in Educational Leadership, with Distinction, at the University of Leicester, United Kingdom. She is an enthusiastic educator who is passionate about teaching and learning. Her dream is to become a headteacher.
	Introduction
	Many TMC non-native English - speakers are unaware of the serious mistakes they make when giving speeches. These mistakes, although the grammarian may not point them out, make such speeches meaningless. This workshop will deal with how to improve your speeches in terms of grammar　& expressions (including nuances). In her workshop you will:    1. Learn the 5 common English mistakes made by non-native TMC speakers – and how to avoid them, and    2: Understand the nuances of English in business communications. After the workshop, you should have more confidence in your speaking ability. Let’s learn and grow together!

	“Speaking Styles Revisited:           How We Can Reach Audience Hearts”	Kazuhiro Nomura	ATM Nomura became a member of Kansai Toastmasters in 1979 while still being a graduate student. He served as Club President, Area Governor, also worked on the foundation of East-Kobe Toastmasters Club. In recent years, he has been inactive. Now Nomura teaches speech communication and involved in teacher development at Kobe City University of Foreign Studies. He has also been Chief Judge for high-school and technical college English speech and presentation contests.
	Introduction
	In Toastmasters meetings, we practice making speeches in Table Topic, Formal Speech and Evaluation Sessions, or we work as Toastmaster to preside over the meeting as MC. We also attend Club-level, Area, Division, or District Speech Contest. What speaking styles does each assignment require and how can we attract people?, As a Toastmaster, we know what to practice and how to practice every time we make a speech in front of an audience, and we can be very well-prepared. But still we sometimes fail to reach the audience hearts. Here, we will focus on different speaking styles and think about how we can more effectively appeal to the audience. Participants are expected to actively think and act in the workshop together.

	Building an opinion by using debating skills	Kuniko Soga	TM Soga has taught debating classes for fifteen years. Her interest in debating as an effective means of training skills in English communication began when she attended a workshop in the late 1990’s by the authors of a debate textbook, the first of its kind written and published for Japanese students in 2000. She is excited to see the general public has recently caught up with her enthusiasm for debating in language teaching.
	Introduction
	Doing debate gives you an opportunity to acquire skills in building arguments, critical listening and thinking, reasoning, persuading and refuting. And preparing for debate trains you in doing research and organizing opinions by analyzing and integrating resources. How much ever you may expect to be benefitted by such processes, however, you must take a first step to doing debating somewhere and sometime. This workshop will be an occasion for that action. Specifically, we will explain and practice how to construct an opinion: stating a signpost, giving a reason and supporting it with viable evidences; and then, how to refute the opponent’s opinion: questioning the reason and challenging the support. Participants are invited to join in a mini-debating in the workshop.
